I was on this beautiful trail several months ago, on a hot summer day, but the live oaks kept the path so cool. Clusters of little violet blue flowers were everywhere, announcing the arrival of summer. As I walked along, I felt this wonderful mix of peace and cheer. The cool shade, the flowers, the rustling leaves, it all made me want to slow down and take it in. There was something so refreshing about being there, surrounded by all this life on an otherwise hot summer day.
And then there was the sunlight. It slipped through the leaves and landed in little patches all around me, lighting up the grasses, flowers, and leaves. Everywhere I looked, there was another little spark of light. They felt like tiny jewels scattered along the trail and I couldn't stop noticing them. Every time I look at this it brings back the feeling of walking through the cool shade, discovering these little bursts of sunshine, and feeling a simple joy.
