The air smelled like warm grass and ripe fruit, the breeze moved through the vines just enough to cool the heat, and the chilled wine tasted unbelievably alive.
I remember sitting at that little table, staring out at rows of gold-tipped vines and distant lavender mountains, and slipping into a kind of quiet where the world softened and my whole body exhaled. I forgot the conversation, forgot the rush of the day. I just sank into the land, the light, and the feeling of being held by California itself. This painting is my way of keeping that moment open.
