We followed a narrow path through a meadow and along a small stream, sunlight warming our backs while the high Sierra peaks rose sharply above us. There was this quiet joy in the air, the kind that makes you slow your steps without even realizing it. I remember watching Ginger weave through the tall grass, leaves drifting around us, and feeling completely held by the day.
